I am only 21 but have been suffering from lower back pain recently. Does anyone know what could be causing this or any exercises that could improve the pain. I am thinking it could be bad posture, but again this just started happening this past month. Help!

ReplyDeletei had that experience a lil while back while i was running track in high school. i saw a chiropractor and it turned out that my lower back was out of line. after seeing the chiropractor for about a month's worth of treatment it was back in-line and i was fine to compete again. hope you get your problem fixed...best bet is to see a chiropractor about it, being young helps because your body is able to heal quicker.
ReplyDeleteare you always on your feet? your feet, legs have a lot to do w/the pressure on your back... I used to waitress and my back would be killn me... See if your doc can give you muscle relaxers... anything that would stretch and/or loosen them up will aid in the soothing... simple stretches in the morning, stretch side to side back and forth.. try to correct your posture, it only gets worse w/age...trust me..

ReplyDeleteIt comes from your ab muscles getting weak. Most people think that the spine is supported by back muscles. It is not, the majority of the support comes from the ab muscles.And one of the best ways to work them,that won't hurt your back is to walk.

ReplyDelete1. Bad Posture
2. Strain to the muscles
3. Fatiguing the muscles
4. Sleeping in a bad position (such as on your stomach)
5. Constantly standing/sitting
Try to put ice on your back, for 20 minutes, then give it a break for about 1 hour, and repeat. Then apply heat to relax the pain. I recomend IcyHot patches for the back.
A slipped disk is a common cause of back pain in younger adults if increased weight on the spine and pressure on the discs often lead to Back Pain. It can be because of Poor muscle tone in the back, Ligament or Muscle Tears , Joint Problems, Menstruation, Smoking.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, weak abdominal muscles are often the cause of back pain! So try doing some crunches when your back isn't too sore (when I start getting pain, I do the crunches even with the pain and it still makes me feel better the next day)
ReplyDeleteGo see a chiropractor and get your back aligned again. Then, walk about 8 miles a day, total. That includes just walking around the room and to your car and stuff. Stretch your back too. If you carry a heavy backpack around, stop. And good posture never hurts anyone. :) Think about how you sleep as well. Hope you get this thing worked out.

ReplyDeleteAll of the above answers can be the sources of your back pain, but for women - female problems can also be the source of your problem. I would recommend that you go see your doctor and get a complete physical and let him/her diagnose your exact problem. Good luck!
